During this trying economic times, we wanted to remind our members about the Broadcasters Foundation of America. Their mission, from their website:
The mission of the Broadcasters Foundation of America is to improve the quality of life and maintain the personal dignity of men and women in the radio and television broadcast profession who find themselves in acute financial need due to a critical illness, accident, advanced age or other serious misfortune.
The Foundation provides grants grants to broadcasters who are unable to work due to an illness, or other serious misfortune, such as the circumstances many find themselves in during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Foundation has been instrumental in keeping broadcasters on their feet during and after Hurricane Katrina, flooding disasters, personal crises, and more, for many years. Their grants range from monthly assistance checks during times of extreme need, to a one-time “helping hand” in hard times.
Broadcasters are essential for keeping the public informed, connected, and safe – which is why its so important to the Foundation, and to us, that you are able to live and thrive.
Not only is this an amazing resource for you and your teams should the need ever arise, but it’s also a way to give back to the vital broadcast industry. You can learn more about how the Foundation helps, how to donate to the Foundation, and how to support them in other ways, at their website here.
